In spite of tendencies to strengthen the impact of German as a language in academia, an ever-increasing proportion of publications by German scholars is being written in English.

This workshop will assist you in the task and help you improve your academic writing skills in English.

During the first meeting, we will cover the following aspects:

	Writing academic texts: the basics
	Typical mistakes made by Germans when writing in English
	Particularities of English academic writing
	Recommendation of useful resources.

Subsequently, each participant will have the opportunity to send me a 300-word abstract by e-mail. I will correct the abstracts and bring them to our second meeting.

During the second meeting,

	I will give an (anonymous) overview of the most commonly made mistakes.
	we will correct these mistakes together.
	participants will rework their texts with my assistance.
